D`Road Cafe in Montgomery

Very clean, Covid guidelines with social distancing. Went for lunch while visiting the city. Very friendly greeting when we entered. We were told to seat ourselves and then they explained the lunch buffet. You picked from two entrees. Served with two sides, drink and a dessert. Plates are prepared and brought to your table.

Wonderful service. My meal was a fish stew in coconut milk that had unique and rich flavors. Clearly cooked with passion and love. The bread pudding was flavorful and unique. Very satisfying meal. The restaurant was very clean and while spartan was completely welcoming. I will definitely come back next time I visit Montgomery

I really enjoyed this place! I got the pork shoulder, gnocchi, broccoli & cauliflower, and plantains. It was great... I always love coming to this place and wonder why more people are not going.

Visiting from out of town. Didn't know it was a Venezuelan cafe when we walked in, we were just looking for something quick to eat. The food was absolutely amazing! Great service, too! The woman who owns the restaurant was very attentive and sweet. I will definitely visit next time I'm in Montgomery!

Super cool artsy kinda funky but chill atmosphere. Service was tremendous and the breakfast? On point. Eggs perfectly fine, brisket was super moist, and everything delicious. Awesome little breakfast place

We went here with our son while we were visiting him in AL. Delicious food bar where you choose your own plate. Some things spicy but good. Large watermelon slice for dessert.

We were looking for a delicious cultural restaurant experience, and that is exactly what we found in D’Road Cafe. The food was amazing, full of flavor, and obviously prepared with love. The service was warm and friendly. The experience was top-notch, and I can’t wait to go there again. FYI—they have three types of amazing homemade hot sauce. I recommend ALL of them. I bought a jar of each to bring home.

First time I have ever had any Venezuelan type food. Good rotation selection of food. I am a picky eater and have always been able to find something. Give it a try and support a great hidden local gem.

Took a break from the road, and found this FABULOUS restaurant. The food was amazing, but the best part was being treated like family by the owner and chef, Janett! What a pleasure. We will definitely stop again when we pass through, or hopefully see you in Tennessee some day.

This place is delicious and serves up central american dishes. It's a home cooked meal every time. Also, the proprietor offers cooking classes. Highly recommended.

On my way home, I stopped by. Though the menu had a variety of breakfast choices, I decided upon the croissant sandwich. Let's just say, I wasn't disappointed. The place is nice and clean. The server was helpful and my sandwich was loaded, filling and delicious. I will be back. 😊

04/27/2020 Fantastic food!! Was at Truckworx for service and ordered through grubhub. Food was piping hot when arrived, beautifully presented, ample portions and everything tasted oh so good!! Very unique food - plantains cooked perfectly (so sweet & delicious), black beans & rice yummy, curry chicken was not spicy and deliciously tender, and vegetable medley fresh & cooked perfectly. Delivery was quick and driver friendly, as were staff on phone. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This place is a unique experience. Set menu, with three main course meats, is VERY filling. The food was delicious and of a great variety. It was quiet when we went in. Great place for a large group or a small one. First class service and food. Great price for the selection.

Went to this awesome place this morning. As soon as we walked in Janet greeted us warmly. She then described a few of her menu items in detail. I knew the food was going to be good just by the way she talked about it. And she did not disappoint! The food was delicious and made with love the most important ingredient. I will most definitely be back! The hugs before we left didn't hurt either!

We stopped here just to try it, WOW!! What a gem!!This Venezuelan restaurant is amazing, the food is phenomenal, I had the ginger chicken, turkey meat ball and red cabbage, my husband had the pork loin. OMG it was awesome.Highly recommend

This restaurant is amazing, you must visit. I went here for a cooking class one night with friends and we had the best time. We were basically sous chefs, helping to create a Pakistani meal, yes, you heard me right and yes, this is a Venezuelan restaurant. The owner/chef, Janett, is that good. The food is all local, fresh and tastes fantastic. Aside from their standard menu and cooking classes, they also have other special nights for certain occassions. Definitely give this family run business your patronage; you won't regret it. Thanks! :-)

The food, service, and total atmosphere were excellent.

Everything I had (pork loin, rice, eggplant, carrots & greens) was tremendous.A chill atmosphere with very polite & attentive staff.Update: I returned here four more times during my stay in Montgomery & the excellence continued. This is my favorite place to lunch in the city.

Amazingly tasty food. They cook dinners from a different cultures every friday. The food is always fresh and the atmosphere is quaint and relaxing.

This restaurant is amazing! The food is delicious, flavorful, and reasonably priced because the meal comes with so much food! The restaurant is Venezuelan/Latin, the menu changes is daily, and every friday the menu is inspired by a different country. For example, the signage said this friday is Ethiopian. As a tourist, I would never expect Montgomery to have a restaurant like this and I'm very glad it does.

Spectacular! It was Argentina night. She features a different country each Friday night. There should be a maxed out restaurant every Friday.

The Arepes were amazing!!! Honestly, I've never had a bad meal here and the staff is so friendly. I don't understand why it isn't packed all the time! Oh, and the Almond Banana Cake was delicious!

If you go to Montgonery and you want some good good in an admirable environment. Probably one of the best kept secrets of this city.... go there, you won't be disappointed.

We need more Venezuelan immigrants. This food was AMAZING and the breakfast menu looked authentically delicious. They don't use oils or fry or anything, but you couldn't tell from how much flavor was in our food. Even the water had a perfect saturation of lemon and lime!

You know that feeling you get when Grandma cooked a 4 course meal with way too much food and you can't stop eating because it's all amazing and she keeps checking on you making sure she did well? That. Every time I come here. You come here and you're going to be cared for, legitimately cared for.

Found this place by accident, but it was totally worth it. The Venezuelan theme is what was initially appeasing; I hadn't heard of most of the items served for today, but all of what I tried was excellent. The owner was very welcoming and informed us that every Friday night, there's both a different national theme and special drink options. Whether it's lunch or any other meal, I would happily return.

If you have not eaten here, or do not stop by on a regular, do yourself a favor and DO IT! Best most authentic food around! Great people, great food!!

This was a great experience. I am a vegetarian and they made a custom plate for me, although it wasn't on the menu. The food was delicious and piping hot.

Truly one of the most unique dining experiences for lunch I have ever had. Say hello to Jannet, the owner and get to know her. She is an award-winning Chef to be reckoned with and her style of running her restaurant is something you have to experience to believe.

Perfect choice for lunch after a visit to the Rosa Parks museum.Warm atmosphere and great hospitality. Delicious, melt-off-the-bone chicken in a simmer sauce with beans and rice. Meal included desert, coffee and salad all for $15 bucks. Solid deal and an amazing find.

Any restaurant that doesn't have a static menu is always worth a look. The food is flavorful and the service is personable. You're going to pay more than you would at another small diner, but you also get a lot more - including dessert!

Janett is a great cook & lovely, welcoming host. We love international dinner on Friday night- feels like culinary travel!

Felt like I was visiting my grandma for a home cooked meal, so homey and the customer service was outstanding. Would definitely return and recommend to friends!
